i am always amazed at how fucked the world is, and how we manage to go through life in our bubble. maybe its that i havent been to asia in a few years, its actually been about 5. its been easy to forget about burma. seeing the events unfolding, starting with the monks, then the growing marches was the first reminder ive had of whats going on there really since i was on the border and did the warchild documentary. the people in the refugee camps, were real people, not just images on tv. those kids i was playing to and visiting with are now teenagers.
as the army and the thugs move in and the shooting starts and the connection to the outside world is cut it all becomes real. hope is a strange thing, even when things look dark we have to keep it alive.

Thanks for all the great feedback on the new website www.davidusher.com
Its still in development and there are a lot more great features coming.
You’ll notice we’ve taken away the photo and video section in the forum.
If you have photos you can upload them to the flickr group instead and there is a high res. video channel being built right now where you will be able to see all the videos mine and moist’s, and I think the dvd as well. Im just going to post everything so you have access to it.
Ive restarted the street team and Shannon is going to help administer it. Everyone is welcome to participate and all ideas are welcome. We can all think of interesting ways to spread the word and once a week (maybe twice) we’ll decide on something to do and all go after it. Like this whole site, it will be a work in progress!!
Finally, thanks for all the great feedback on the demo songs (and souring), with that kind of encouragement, it really makes it easier to post songs in progress.

lots about it is going to change. some of the words have already left us since this i recorded this yesterday. its interesting for me the journey a song takes. showing thing to you this early on is very odd and im having to force myself to post it, without polishing it. anyways, im sure ill get use to it, enough preamble…

you were smart once
considered a rocket scientist by some
could teach even simple minds to upload mp3s to their blog sites
were a teacher, a scholar, a brilliant mind
but
then you left us, us and our wordpress, to fiddle around endlessly through the early hours of the morning with this god damn upload app that i cant for the life of me get to work!!!! (takes a deep breath:)
this is the part of the show where kevin flashes his all knowing puppet smile and gives me the finger
(i really do have a song to show you, i just cant get it online)

finally after a long period of settling in, ive got a new song im working on.
its a strange thing how it happens, ill ignore the guitar, almost purposely, watch it on the couch, but just let it sit there.
and then the next thing i know its 4 in the morning and ive found the chords and progression. and then the first few words. ill post what ive got in the next day or so, no name yet (that im going to talk about yet anyways).
