its 4 am and the band and i are getting ready to fly out to vancouver and start the tour. the bus will meet us at the airport and it will be good to get onto our home on wheels. even after years of doing this, i still love it. there is something about the start of the tour and getting on the bus. feels like september and the first day of school (without the homework or tests). we have most of the songs up and running but its going to be the first time playing a lot of things so time to be brave right!
just so you know, i carbon offset the bus. i couldnt really find a bus carbon calculator so i counted it as 4 ford escalade’s going across the country. close enough:) i used a canadian gold standard carbon offset company, www.plantair.ca
cant wait to play-see you tonight. x

i blame you for my awaken state at 4 am in the morning! i tried to go to sleep but the excitement has not allowed me any rest. I feel like a kid on christmas eve!!
I’m so excited vancouver will be your test run in a way. Can’t wait to hear all the new stuff
see you at soundcheck
EEEE
Have a great first leg of the tour!! I so wish I could be there but that damn job is always getting in the way!
With all the new songs to remember, it’s kind of like a test in school… dont forget to write your cheat notes on your arm!
Can’t wait to hear how it goes!
Shouldn’t it be planetair.ca? (forgot the “e”?) Anyway, I commend you for using an offset. I didn’t even know you could do that. I think that it is a great idea. Thanks.
Best of luck with everything! Can’t wait until the 18th, to see what you’ve got in store for us…can hardly wait already. Trust me, we’re all as excited about this tour as you are.
And thanks for telling us about the bus…I’m not at all surprised that you are behaving so responsibly in that respect but it’s nice to hear.
Sweet! I’m already geared up… good luck to you, and congrats on the offset. How responsible!
It’s so neat that your doing this on-line thing.Hope you have a fabulous tour.
Thanks for keeping in touch.Best Wishes Always.

we’ll see you at the phoenix theatre, david
good luck with the vancouver and upcoming shows…
hope everything goes well out west…wish i could be there too (especially in banff)!!
i’m sure the first shows will be fantastic - they always are! it must be so refreshing to be able to get that feeling of newness and excitement back time and time again (going back on tour). that’s a pretty rare thing to be able to enjoy doing the same thing that much extent over such a long period of time…i can understand why though. going on tour seems like it’d be tons of fun! good luck with everything and see you soon!
can’t wait for shows,
~amy xo
Glad you’re as excited as we are about the tour!!! Let’s just hope the thrill doesn’t fade quite as fast as the first day of school excitement used to! At least when you’ve been on the road for a while and are sick of the inside of the bus, you’ll be able to blog to pass the time:)
Looking forward to seeing the new stuff live!
Goodluck tonight! And have a safe trip across the country (again)
Best of luck and I know you’re going to knock ‘em dead!!!
Thanks for keeping us all up-to-date….
Have a safe trip!!!
Keep us posted after the show…
the right site is http://planetair.ca/
I wish I could make the Toronto show but i’ll have to miss it.
I know your music only gets better with time so i’m looking forward to the next future show. Even if it’s next year, it’ll be worth the wait. It’s great to see that you care about environmental issues too. If everyone did one little thing to make a change, this world would be better off. Have a safe journey and enjoy the live music. ~DA
hey,
thanks for the amazing show tonight! i love seeing you play live. you are awesome with the crowd too. good luck on the tour. oh yeah and you pulled off those new songs just fine
my son is a big fan of yours too. he’s 3, and says that your “love will save the day” song is a boys song! he won’t let me sing along to it.which is confusing because i can sing like a rockstar in the car with him. i’m sure he’ll figure out my wonderful singing talent one day, or discover his own in the shower one day. i’ll work on him allowing it to be a boy’s and girl’s song. have fun on the bus! and thank you so much for actually being an artist that not only has a lot of talent, but one who uses it to promote and bring light to some of the pressing issues in our crazy world. you’re a smart guy!

David, meeting you at soundcheck was a real pleasure, and of course seeing you and the band rock out at the evening’s performance was fantastic! For a guy who claimed he “needed to get some sleep”, you and the boys sure seemed to be givin’ ‘er on stage! awesome energy! So glad you all felt brave enough to play ‘Everyday Things’, it turned out great.
Have fun on the road! if you guys pull off a show like that for each stop, the country is in for a treat!
cheers,
stu
lol @ Shan’s comment. haha..yes, david is always cheated. lol ;D
anyway, i dont think i really understand about the carbon and the offset of the bus thing. anyone free enough to explain it for a lack of knowledge girl? ;p
