so ive been having a really good time playing, we still have a lot of shows left, but ive started to think about what im going to do after the last show on nov 17th
i was planning to go straight into recording the acoustic record, but with the way the band is playing together and the way im feeling about “everyday things” now im starting to think about going into process on a full blown record right away. i have so many songs already and it would be great to get them all up and running and be able to put them into the set through random shows in the winter.
another thought is to just work on both and while working on the full record also start playing unannounced acoustic show here and there, that sound fun as well. all just ideas for now

Do you ever take time off and rest! Sounds really exciting! Love your music very much, I’m really old school fan, I’m talking since the 90’s! I would love that idea of you playing unannounced acoustic shows, exciting!

Patricia
Cool!
Can’t wait to hear that new album. I really like ”Everyday things” song. I always
loved that soft side of your music.
If you do some unannouced shows, i hope i will have the chance to catch one of it in Montreal. I’m sure that an acoustic show will be great.

I think I need to see an acoustic show really badly.
Ahhhh! Random shows in the winter, I’m all for that! Any kind, regular, acoustic…I’ll be there if there are any in T.O.!
Wow, I thought by now you’d be looking to dial down the crazy pace!! Can’t wait for new music - be it acoustic or not!
wow, David, that would be incredible.
I hope you do some unnanounced shows in Toronto, like the RW & Co thing.
xoxo ps. thanks for the hug @ The Phoenix
Wow, I don’t know how you manage to keep up this pace but I’m so there for any show in Montreal. Sounds like so much fun! <3
I love the idea of an acoustic album and shows but I will always prefer new material to reworked stuff! And judging from Everyday Things, the new stuff will be amazing!!!!!!!!
“unannounced acoustic show here and there..” wow i like the sound of that one.
so, vancouver?
I think both an acoustic record, and a record with new material at the same time sounds great to me (if it’s possible).
maybe a double disk??
Then for a tour you can play the acoustic arrangements, as well as the new stuff?
Wow that would be so awesome!
Hello guys,
It felt really good on our side of the stage at the Metropolis. I was fun to say hello to Coco! As we saw you had a lot of fun playing “everyday things” and this will surely hit the charts; We are going to see you soon in Repentigny, Sorel and St-jean in november..and it is an honor for us for having you back in Montreal , your virtual home!

Another full record would be great….more shows out west would be even better!
it all sounds amazing!
just dont over work yourself
…and come back to b.c!!
“the way the band is playing together” - i completely see/hear what you mean…after being at more than a few shows thus far, the band is clearly gelling more than ever before. it’s like everything has fallen into place, and the instant success of ‘everyday things’ is evidence of that.
so, on that note, the idea of another full blown record is a fantastic idea! the acoustic plan still sounds very cool, but i really feel like if you drew from the current live energy of the shows and centred on the off-the-cuff tone of ‘everyday things,’ it would be an amazing result. plus i’m dying to hear these other songs that you plan to get “up and running”!
i’m really impressed by your drive and motivation to multi-task with different projects, but don’t over-exhaust yourself! i’m sure you can handle it though
i, too, love the idea of unannounced acoustic shows…and the thought of everything at once is crazy!
all i know is, another full record just seems right!
we’re supporting you in all things you do!
actually i didnt want you to end this promotion for strange birds yet. i still have a list in my mind of the songs that could be released as singles. and im still enjoying this SB period just so much. but it would be only me coz im living far away. i see that its been quite a long time since you started touring in canada. so lets go to the next things.
if being asked, as a fan, at the first thought i would sure want both but hmmmm..on some repeated thoughts i found its really hard to decide.
well, i sense that its the exact time that you are ready to play/work with the new materials but nahh..i still think an acoustic record should be done, coz you are repeatedly being applauded about how intimate you are doing the acoustics so you know the fans have been calling for it. and it also seems fun to do and plus i feel its somehow like a refreshing thing.
so if you think it wont take you out of the concentration for the new stuffs too much then maybe thinking about a double disk? i think that could be the balance, just like your idea of playing unannounced acoustic show here and there while working on the full record.
whoa..i didnt expect i would write this long, sorry.
just so you know that im happy with whichever way you are going in coz im sure whatever come out from you next will make me smile.
bui xoxoxoxo
and as i always said, pls take care the best of your health! its important too, you know.
im not ending the work on strange birds, just writing about the music im thinking about for the future!
good idea ! i like it!! Cant wait to hear this album

Music is my passion ; i cant live without this.
Nov 17th will be the last one???? OMG i must be to St-Jean next Nov 15th!!
Good evening!
For everyone who was to Montreal @ Metropolis, i recorded a video of “Everyday Things” . Sound is not very good, well, this is not the best quality video…anyway!
Go to:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=AB8r23utJsE
working on both right after touring?? wow, that’d be a crazy workload, but it seems like you have the energy to do it, while still promoting SB (you can count on the street team to help you out with that while you’re busy!
) just take care of yourself (your health) while you’re in the process!
An acoustic album would be amazing, but then again, so would a full blown record. Maybe some live songs? Anything would be aweaome! And, unannoucned shows would be great…especially in vancouver
you have my support for whatever you choose to do
maybe an unnanounced show in Grimsby? just kidding…
Wow, extra random shows!!! How cool!!! I think I can safely say that I’d be happy with anything. As long as you keep making music! I don’t want to see you burnt out from all this, so I trust in whatever you choose to do. I think the two cd thing is a great idea… one as your main “new songs” record and a bonus cd disc of acoustic “reworked” songs. Sort of like Hallucinations but with a regular cd. I’d be happy with an album though. I just have one request… keep Everyday Things! That song is amazing and from the videos and comments I’ve seen online, I guess i’m not the only one who thinks this. Take it easy.
im sorry about my little messed up but im happy to hear that. thank you, david.
oh..and thank you for sharing the vid, brebichex.
i absolutely love this new version of “Everyday Things”! I’m looking forward to hearing it live on the 26th. Another full record would be amazing…can’t wait to hear these new songs you are working on!
An acoustic record would be awesome! It would be so intimate and personal. Full blown record sounds awesome too! Unannounced acoustic shows sound like a fabulous idea (with a hint to where we can find you, lol!) Eveything sounds wonderful! I also like the idea of a live record, ’cause it could capture you well live, lol! How about a DVD? Then you can capture the sights woo hoo and soungs yééé! Your presence on stage, and your dancing and your singing is a piece of beautiful art! Really, you’re doing such a tremendous job. Whatever you decide will be great.
Take care!
Nat! (from Winnipeg)
You’d better have a ‘random’ acoustic session out West if you decide to go that route.
Im with you “tightbunns” come out west, Nanaimo preferably. We Need some talented performers once in awhile!!
I just want to say. Be carefull with your health. Don’t run out yourself.
Seems like you are a machine who always work.
Take care of yourself.

Everyday things is absolutely wonderful. Ive been unable to get it out of my head since Saturday night.
I would love the idea of acoustic shows, and any time you play in montreal, me and my boyfriend will be there. I got him tickets to your show for his birthday coming up soon and he was so happy. Keep up the good work and welcome home.
xox
Yeah, me too i have Everyday things stuck in my head, i sing the words i know and the rest its ” lalalala” hehehe its a good song!!!
hello david, if you ever drop by toronto….would you like to play in the gta area, specifically mississauga or brampton? maybe playing at the rose theatre in brampton http://www.rosetheatre.ca/
or at mississuaga hershey centre http://www.hersheycanada.com/en/discover/hersheycentre.asp
or living arts http://www.livingartscentre.ca/
or perhaps at square one shopping mall…just an idea…..perhaps playing on the streets downtown would be totally cool…i’m pretty sure you’ll grab a lot of attention
cheers,
telo
OK.. It’s the Mom talking(Thomas, 4 years old) .. I would LOVE to ear an acoustic album from you, and I can’t wait to see you again on stage..(The show in Montreal was increadable.. Like always!) But… take some time for you.. and the little one! It goes to fast
And.. Next time I’ll write in French.. Just to get you started on your learning!
Mississauga? Reppin!
I think he did play @ Square1 one time, but that was back in ‘99 when he was promoting Morning Orbit…before his solo career exploded to what it is now. If he came to Square (again), the mall would be ransacked by fans
yah, and take care always….
and tell the band the same thing too!
cheerios,
telo
Hi David:
Thank you for your haunting, bittersweet, and thought provoking music. As I was sick, I missed Saturday’s show in Montreal which was a shame. So, I’ll keep an eye out for one of your impromptu shows about town.
Thanks for making us feel connected to the human condition all the while rocking out.
Cheers,
Sarine
Hi David,
I think that’s a great idea to do an album right away.I really have a feeling you
are going to be huge very soon.I know that sounds creepy, but I can feel it.
I had tickets for your concert in Edmonton, but I was sick.
So please come back to Edmonton.
Love the Dreamer.
Hey David!! I agree with many of the previous comments. I think you should definitely do more shows out west, like Virginia already said- preferably Nanaimo!!! Just think about our mild winters compared to back east!! There probably wouldn’t be snow, or not much anyways! I can’t wait for the next album- whatever it is: acoustic would be amazing, but so would new material ( as always) , and covers, or maybe even a live one?! A dvd would be great as well, maybe with a bit of life on the road or something. Anyways I hope you have an awesome time on the rest of your tour! Take care and try to rest a bit. Andrea xxx
No problem moistndamp
dreaming, remember “huge” is all in the eye of the beholder. And what the masses flock to certainly are not often the highest quality out there, entertainment, music, sports etc.
Great things can come in small packages, as the saying goes!
Your right.
Here is somes places in Montreal were you could do an unannouced show.

So by ‘un-announced’, how unannounced are they? I’d be soo sorry to miss it. How about davidusher.com-announced only?
Very good idea Eurogal_yvr
all sound like fabulous ideas! an acoustic show would be absolutely stellar!! either a full record or an acoustic record would be equally exciting!! just be sure to take some time for you too!
