i’ve tried opening the videos but it doesn’t seem to work… the music opened but not the other ones. i downloaded the little software like it said and had to swith to firefox since safari 3,0 is not supported but it still ain’ tworking for me. it is well constructed though and it is easy to navigate through!

I love the idea! It’s nicely organized and I didn’t have much trouble but I have to admit that I’m not a big fan of QuickTime. It slows things down for me and it often acts up but other than that, everything’s great! Can’t wait till there’s more stuff - especially interviews and live shows!
It worked great for me and the videos look AMAZING! The only thing that didnt work for me was the full screen mode and the sidebars are a bit distracting. Otherwise, I love it! It will be interesting to see live videos and in progress song videos up there!
thats great!!!
I hope you do more concerts soon, I just turned fan of your music (I love it) and I hope to see you live.
by the way, I think the forum is not working. I cant log in, I log in but its like I didnt.
I really want to go to the Markham concert, I live in Toronto, if anyone read this and you have tickets (goos sets would be great) email me karlshapirog@yahoo.ca
if david usher read this if you want to invite me to your concert with a backstage pass I wont turn you down… haha! kiddin!
thanks
i like the david usher tv tab…just like shannon said, hope there’ll be more stuff up about live music, songs in progress, etc…my only problem was actually never mind…my ibook has the problem, LOL…also, i wish the background image on the tv page be “static” like it shouldn’t be moving when you scroll up and down…drew, i hope you’re reading this - just a suggestion though : )
all the best,
telo
Great idea, but like Shannon I couldn’t view them in full screen mode. I think there are still a few kinks to iron out. Also I could view all of the videos with sound but by the time I got to a day in the life I got a plug-in error and now I can’t view any of them, I get an error every time. If I open a new window it freeze when I go to the david usher tv page, it might just be the computer, but everything else seems to work fine. I will try to re-install the application and see if that fixes it.
i like the idea! but dont know why all 3 times i tried to open the page ended up with “internet explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. we are sorry for the inconvenience.” i saw the ugly background and the five columns on the head though. by the way, i use internet explorer version 6.0 and it usually work fine. but this could be only me. well, i will try open it on my another pc tomorrow.
bui xoxoxo
I got the same error, but I just closed all my internet explorer pages and opened it again and it worked fine, even the david usher tv too, but still no full screen. I think I might have gone click happy and clicked on too many things before and got errors, the full screen wasn’t working so I think I just kept clicking on it… I am not so patient.
Moistndamp- try upgrading your browser to internet explorer 7.0, you can download it from microsoft webpage. I don’t know if that is your problem but then you get a nice clean install, it might fix your errors. If you just google internet explorer you can find the page to download it.
It looks nice but i just can’t open it. I’ll try to open it somewhere else and give you back my opinion.
well, its not working for me… i see 2 seconds of video and after, everything is green.
does that mean you’re getting rid of your “video/blog”?
KarlCanada
Go on the forum in general discussions. I wrote you about you forum problem.
Sometimes these types of apps require more power than the average user has. I’m on a iBook G4, maxxed out on RAM with a high speed connection.
Using it in Safari (newest version) was a nightmare. When I tried to switch between videos, the audio playback of the first one would be overlay the audio and video of the second one and I couldn’t get it un-stuck, it would just re-start the same video, overlaying the audio on the previous selection. The responsiveness to switch between videos was really, really poor. Then Safari crashed. Nowhere in the process did the system tell me Safari wasn’t supported.
Firefox (newest version) was a little better. Somewhat less choppy and I didn’t get any audio overlays. Responsiveness when I switched between videos was better. But, when I switched to fullscreen and back to normal, it crashed Firefox!
When I re-opened Firefox and went back to your site, it crashed again! On the third attempt, Firefox froze. I had to force quit and re-boot. Toxic. I rarely re-visit sites that will make me go through this type of grief just to watch a video.
I had no problems viewing the background image, as others seem to have had. And the video and audio quality was very good.
A few suggestions:
- It’s a drag that when you switch to full screen mode, the video starts over. It would be better if it just carried on seamlessly.
- Personally, I hate having to download a plugin to see something. You might find higher usage rates with a video application that doesn’t require this. Many people can’t be bothered and/or are suspicious of downloading these types of things.
- I love the idea of offering higher resolution video, but clearly there are some performance issues. It might be better if there were buttons to click on what speed your connection was and/or what resolution you wanted to see. That way people who have slower connection rates or older computers can choose what’s best for them. I know that the video is meant to be high res, but isn’t it better for everyone to be able to see your videos?
Good luck with your new media experiments. I think that it’s wonderful that you opened this up for comments - I wish more sites with new features would do that.
off topic: i stopped using internet explorer when i discovered firefox about 2 years ago….it’s better than ie…i only use internet explorer when i preview the web sites i design to match all the browsers..
sometimes, it’s the computer a user has that’s giving problems…if you’re computer has a slow processor most likely you will encounter those problems mentioned…my only suggestion would be giving the users speed options…in a way informing them that there are solutions from their problems
this site is the only window that i was opening! so this must due to my super old and slow celeron 533mhz processer and a 512 mb ram although i have a speed connection. i have another pc which is fast at the other home though. im looking for a new nice notebook too, so this will soon not be my prob anymore. but i also agree that there should be the user speed options.
thank you so much for the tips amamda. i should try. but hey, firefox seems interesting too!

sorry for the mistyping of your name, amanda.
i do it sometimes to…. the “m” and “n” are so close together… then people just think I can’t spell my name. :0)
ha ha it’s okay… I actually didn’t even notice anyway….
oh and fullscreen works for me now, I just tried it again. I don’t know if anything was changed, but it seems to all work right now. I didn’t do anything different.
Adelemcalear, just wanted to mention that the video didn’t start over for me when I switched to fullscreen. It just continued like on youtube. My problem was that I didn’t know how to leave the fullscreen so eventually I just went back but then all the tabs disappeared and I had to refresh to get them back.
So I tried it out again and it worked better this time around though it does take a few seconds between videos. Nothing crashed or froze though so I guess I’m lucky. I’m using IE 6.0 btw.
to switch back from fullscreen to normal click normal at the bottom of the video, just like you did to get fullscreen
Oh, but I don’t see anything at the bottom. It’s just the video fullscreen and nothing else.
I haven’t had a chance to try this yet myself (can’t install stuff on my work computer) but the still photos when you first click on the “tv” tab look great!
This thread is making me laugh, reminds me of the whole “twitter” thing…:)
Great idea!
Awesome, awesome.
Great idea.
I can’t see videos under any tab other than “music videos”.. the links are greyed out.
Otherwise, fantastic.
in addition, it’s always great to let the users choose what format of video program they want to view the videos to in…such as: select player (e.g. windows media player - high or low bandwidth, quicktime…download options for both video program) i think those two ones are the ones mostly used….
…if only there really was david usher t.v *sigh*
would definatley be my favourite channel.
love it, but have the same problem robyn.
The tabs are greyed out because there are no videos under those categories yet.
Verena- When it is fullscreen can you scroll down to the bottom of the page? under the bar that shows the video play and pause and skip and whatnot, the normal mode tab is right under that. you might have to scroll your page down. Or if that dosen’t work try changing your screen resolution to 1280 by 1024 pixels. That is what mine is on and I can see it without scrolling….
i like your section “david usher tv” ! good idea you had !;)
heyy !! tomorrow ill see you and the band !! im very excited !
Will it be a little show as Repentigny ?
haha, thanks amanda. i feel kind of dumb, i shall try to think before i post next time. thanks for bearing with me!
No Problem… can’t wait to see the interviews
Hey David!
It took me a while to download the music player but it was definitely worth it! I am very impressed with the quality of the videos. I can’t wait to see what else is coming on David usher T.V. lol! Keep up the good work! Nat
strange… it dosent work at all for me, on both of my computers…
and the other one read almost every time of streaming video so i dont get why not these.
i know one of them shouldnt have enough memory to read properly, but still, i click music video and nothing is happening
im on mac, tryed with safari and firefox, installed the plug in, restarted… same old, nothing happening
Hey Drew,
Some new videos were being added around the time you might have been having problems. Please try again if you get a chance.
I’d love to help figure out why it might not be working for you. Feel free to send me an email if you are having problems and I’ll do my best to help.
Cheers,
