i hope you are all having a good one, im feeling a bit burnt this morning. holidays always take it out of me. i need a few days off from a few days off:)

ive been running over the lyric for the new song, “and so we run” (notice the addition of the ‘and’). i think ive found a person to video the sessions that we are starting in january. we are going in on the 15th and ill probably broadcast some footage on the 19th. i have about 12 songs so far and 6 of them are arranged. not a bad start.

im not sure where they come from, im just glad when they do. ive been pretty much exhausted and unable to function since ive been home. end of tour and road fatigue, im use to it by now so i know what to expect. and suddenly it lifts and out of the mess i become myself again…and a new song magically appears. the temp title is “and so we run”
ill post it when i get a second to record it (guitar, voice and computer)
this might be a good song to follow from beginning to end and show all the bit in between.

well i finally got back to montreal after the longest snow travel day, the last trip of the year and of course it went on and on.   im pretty much a professional traveler so i know the only way to deal is to relax and be where you are.
i feel for you if your still at an airport, i saw lots of people that are not getting out of there for a few more days.
today i break out the shovel!

got up in the middle of the night to start writing out a list of songs. thats the thing that always comes first, the list. im going to spend the next few week looking over lyrics and arrangement ideas before the band comes into town on the 15th to start working. its going to be interesting to  see how it is letting you guys watch some of the sessions. im still not sure how i feel about it. we live in a new world and experimenting with the creative process is such a big part of it. i feel lucky to enjoy how things are changing rather than running from them. its a brave new world. maybe the 17th or 18th of january would be a good time to go live and show you a few things?

im headed to Toronto tomorrow for the early morning song for chum on friday, come down if you can, its really early (but then again its really early to sing)

im trying out a new  TV video player at davidusher.com on the main page, its running all the videos and fun clips. through this player ill be able to broadcast live sessions and bits of things we are working on in rehearsal (all live). ill tell you when far in advance so you can tune in. headed to  Tremblant. its snowing again but thats  good for the hill right:)  suppose to do an ipod showdown tonight, in not sure what that is either but it sounds fun…

ok tv shows in quebec are crazy (and fun), you really have to throw yourself into it and just revel in all the insanity. everyone there were great to us and jon and i had a riot. jon use a computer for his guitar effects that worked fine at soundcheck and of course started coughing and spitting the second we went live in front of a million viewers. he had it fixed by the first chorus of “crazy” and like the pro, rocked it like nothing had happened.
its so fun reworking covers at some point we have to do a covers record, maybe bring back some of the fun ones, pink/ozzy anyone?
