its the 3rd of january, 2008 and im ready to get back to work. over the last week i finished the lyrics of ‘and so we run’. the guys are coming up on the 15th to start the process, can we start already!
i hope to have most of the record finished in the next 4 months. the single will come out in the summer and the cd by sept. does that seem a bit crazy? why not.

ps
its not going to be an acoustic record, probably as close as ive gotten to a rock record in awhile!

Wow, very ambitious. I love how you’ve been releasing your (high quality) albums so consistently…it’s great for us!
Funny that you’re so anxious to get started already when, less than a month ago, you were still so busy finishing up your appearances for the year.
A rock record sounds great to me…I’m already looking forward to the shows that will go along with a record like that!
And a new single out for the summer…as if summer weren’t my favourite time of year already…:)

p.s. - - Good luck!!!

Sounds good, well sounds in the broadest sense of the word of course at this point in time. I’m sure it’s difficult to know exactly how you want the songs to be, as a musician with a variety of tastes you’d like it to be some of this and some of that but in the end you’re creative juices and thoughts as an artist take you in the direction that just makes the most sense with what you’re developing.

Best of luck, I’m sure it will turn out super as all your material is!!

That’s intense!
Can’t wait.
Summer and september, eh?
I’ll make myself a mental note.
Best of luck to you and the band… hopefully everything goes as speedy as you say!

Crazy! Yes a bit. But i can understand the way you are thinking (well i guess). I’m like that too. I always have to do something. ;-)

A rock album. Well it will be the first experience for me as a fan of you as a solo artist ( i start to follow your career with ”Morning orbit”. I think there’s alot of ”Moist fans” who are going to be very happy to hear that.

As i already told : the beauty of your music is that everytime you come with differents sounds, everytime you are at your best.

So i’m sure it’s going to sound great.

Have fun!

Maybe a wee bit crazy but crazy is good!!! :) Speaking of which, are you considering putting a cover on? I think Crazy recorded would be great!

“probably as close as ive gotten to a rock record in awhile” - i remember you saying something similar about strange birds too. Keep this up and you’ll be channelling metallica in no time!

Yet another reason to be looking forward to the summer! :) (not to mention Jan 19th!)

Rock album you said? Well, i can’t wait to hear what rock means to you ! Well i prefer rock than pop , so, just see the word ROCK makes me happy. I just can’t wait. Good Luck and imagine a rock album in show.. its gonna fuckin rock the place ! woaow!

From brebichex — January 3, 2008 @ 1:13 pm

Heyyy a rock album ? What better ??!!
I am the first who will buy it !!

From Bryan — January 3, 2008 @ 1:25 pm

That’s insane how soon you’re projecting it will be completed!! and very daring I must say.
I remember you saying “this is about as close to a rock album I’m making these days” about Strange Birds :P
I also remember you saying that Strange Birds was going to be a mostly acoustic record, but then it eventually turned into more rock. Could have the opposite effect on the new record purhaps??

I created a thread on your forum for people’s input on your new record. ie: sound, videos, theme…ect…

From Jaylene3 — January 3, 2008 @ 1:49 pm

pretty excited for the new record!! still loving Strange Birds though….i will be patient!
Happy New Year and hope you make it back to Edmonton in ‘08….

hi david,
this is a wonderful site. i know what you mean about getting on with it. the ‘holidays’ can really seem endless. i have been obsessed of late with yukihiro takahashi. i loved his music in the early ’80’s. it is electro-pop i guess. he was involved in the yellow magic orchestra with ryuichi sakamoto then did some solo work as well. one of his songs from 1981, drip dry eyes, is one of the most simple yet beautiful songs ever written. i can hear you lovely voice lending itself to this song. have you ever heard it? i recently contacted him on myspace where he has a profile. he seems to be quite private about his art and his life. good luck with your new venture. you are an inspiring musician and man.
love, rosannexox

Hey David!

Yeah, actually recording a record that quickly sounds crazy but in a good way, lol! You are always full of energy so why not eh? ;) lol! Good luck on your new album! I can’t wait to see you in concert again! :D Wow, so much to look forward to, it’s great, it’s wonderful, it’s fantastic! Rock eh? I think it will work out great. Perhaps I will be able to convince even more people to come to your concerts in the future. Everything sounds real good. Keep up the good work! You rock, lol!

XOXO

I think that it’s never to late or never to soon to write a song or a album. If you have the inspiration go ahead and do it. Take the vibe.
