I like what you wrote, it reminds me of one of my favorite quotes “ ships in harbour are safe, but that's not what ships are made for” Sometimes we get comfortable and it's hard to accept change and stepping out into the unknown can be kind of scary, but we aren't meant to sit still in life. Life's an adventure and the world is always evolving into something new and hopefully better.

Got room for one more on the moonwalk? I am about to embark on my very first journey there, recording my debut album soon! I just wanted to say that I have followed your career since the beginning of Moist, and your evolution and determination is definately an inspiration. Honestly, I just realized the other day how much some of my music has your influence in it, and it made me smile. Thank you David

I agree with Michael. I think that people overuse things like cell phones and blackberries. While these things may add to our lives, they can also take over them. I personally only use a cell phone for emergencies and take it with me on trips. Other than that, I don't want to be bothered with a ringing phone while I'm out. What did we all do before cell phones? We enjoyed being in the moment with the person we were with.
The internet has opened up a whole new world for us and has allowed us to communicate in amazing ways. We allow ourselves to open up to complete strangers issues that matter to us, but then this newfound freedom can be temporary and fleeting. In the sense that we attempt to purge our frustrations and our dreams and desires for the betterment of our selves...we are really reaching out for a voice to communicate with. Only..that voice doesn't exist in the physical. It's a double-edged sword.
A live concert is amazing, yes, I agree. Even when David sends out a homemade video of a new song..it's personal and that is terrific. It's just too bad that we can't all get kudos for the things that we do, even if they aren't as special or as "out there" in the public. Wouldn't it be great if we all got over 4000 people telling us every day how great we were! Not to take anything away from David, because he is amazing...it's just that it can be depressing to uplift someone when you are not feeling the greatest and there's no one to say "hey, you're great too" . It's just a thought, because there has been so much coverage lately on the impact of the internet.
I am thankful that there is some communication...I just wish we could all communicate in person:-)

Although I will say that it is the face to face personal communication that, for me anyways, transcends technology and gadgetry communications. Not that there is anything wrong with these things, they can add a lot to the human experience, but when you are ill or feeling low, personally I need a shoulder to cry on and a face beside me that cares, the real thing so to speak. Sort of like a live concert, nothing beats it really.

"Moon River, wider than a mile.
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker
wherever you're going I'm going your way.
Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end--
waiting 'round the bend, my huckelberry friend,
Moon River and me." :-)

Hey David. You are truly an inspiration to us all. It's neat that you are willing to embrace technological changes/advances as some people are afraid to. I'm really excited to see this next album come together and be wonderful like all the ones before it.
Does anyone know what time David will be on stage approximately at the Richmond Winter Festival? I'm trying to arrange getting over there for it- from Nanaimo- but it's a bit of a juggling act between having a toddler, my husbands work schedule, and ferries, but I really want to go!!!!. Take Care, Andrea xxxx
