so much of how a record sounds depends on how the mix goes. it can all come together or all go to shit. you never really know how its going to turn out till you’re done. send good energy for this weekend, we need things not to go to shit:)
jon and kev are coming up to do a few touch ups and then well spend 4 days mixing and do the rest at the beginning of april.

mmmm… hi. I’m Cana, from South America, actually, from the end of the world, the Patagonia… i have this album, Silver, from Moist, wich i asked my cousin, 13 years ago, to get it for me in one of her travels to the US. Recently, i listen it again, and brought me back so many memories, so i tried to figured out what happened to those guys, and i found you, mr. Usher. I listened some songs at youtube.com, and i must say, is not the same, but is still you…
i’ll try to get one of yours cd from down here. Sorry about my english… hope you get what i was trying to say…
big hugh from here, by the end of the earth.
Cana.

The only thing that makes an album/song all go to shit is over production. Musicians should be making art not advertisements. There’s too much catering to sales and “hits”, when it should really only be about self expression. F— ‘em if they don’t like it. Dylan’s fans don’t like him because he sounds pretty.

If I had a wish list for an album it would be to feel like a fly on the wall in the studio when listening. I’ll take self-conscious with bumps and bruises over smooth and seamless any day, but hey that’s just my preference and it’s not about me.

Anyway great big bunches of good energy coming you’re way!!!!! Whatever it ends up like, I can’t wait.

Keep in mind that when Michael Jackson made his Thriller record he got it back from mixing and totally hated the record. He went in and remixed it again and look how that turned out! “If at first..yadda yadda.” LOL…No pressure XO 40 million copies and counting:-)

From yvette66 — March 13, 2008 @ 11:50 pm

P.S.You can make a good record and sell lots of them without compromising your artistic integrity…just be terrific at what you do! :-) Sending positive energy…….oooooohhhhmmmm… in yoga position XO

i shouldn’t be here around this time..but i just finished a site i’ve been working on (for now)…
it’s crazy how things change and how we change ourselves to go with it….that’s how i feel - change happens, i complain then i change….there is always something for the next day

i wish you and the band the best of the best…surely, it will be an awesome record…you are a great artist and you have a good soul

we believe in you buddy! rock and rollllllllll

From Michael — March 14, 2008 @ 9:17 am

Look David, there isn’t a song of yours I’ve heard from your Moist days right up until Strange Birds, that I personally haven’t enjoyed. Sure, some I love more than others, that’s the same with everyone, but you can deliver and the guys you have around you now you seem to synergize great with. So as someone said above, go with the flow and to heck if some critics don’t like it, as my mother always said, you can please some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time.

Me and my wife will be closing our eyes this wknd and sending some positive vibes to you and the band, go for it and let it flow as naturally as you can!! All the best.

From Claudia — March 14, 2008 @ 10:07 am

Have Fun :)

From Dark_Angel — March 14, 2008 @ 10:57 am

You guys will be more than fine!! Trust in yourselves!!! Sending positive energy too! :D

*sends positive energy*
and redbull, haha. But personally I think it tastes so much better when mixed with alcohol….

From Andrea — March 14, 2008 @ 8:20 pm

Hey David!!! As always I’m sending you positive energy, but I know things will go great and turn out wonderfully!!!! You and the band are so in tune with one another and so talented- that you should have no worries. I can’t wait for the album!!!!! I hope you guys will get to enjoy the process, and have time for some laughs as well!!!!!! Take care, xxxxx Andrea

From yvette66 — March 15, 2008 @ 2:54 am

I hate it when people always say..”Go with the flow”…I like to swim against the current sometimes(unless it’s a riptide… in which case I would swim parallel to the shore to avoid sudden death!) Try something different and if that doesn’t work, go with the gut…it always works out eventually :-)

From shivani — March 22, 2008 @ 6:28 am

All the best, David! :-)

Sending all the positive energy I can!
