So from my last post on Michael Wesch’s video An anthropological introduction to YouTube that i ended with the question “Where is it all pushing our culture? Maybe its enough, if it just gets us dancing in front of our webcams:)” Jodi commented and posted this link, dancing to one of my songs Hey Kids (that features my friend Tegan, of Tegan and Sara)
kevin and jon are coming up tomorrow to play an acoustic show for theAkoha.org to help pre-launch Austin Hill’s new startup. A “Private Screening of Akoha for our play testers”. Its a very cool new social app that will be public soon. Ive seen it and its a pretty novel idea. this really feels like the start of the fall shows to me. from here on out its all music all the time. its good to get back on stage…
an with that, its done. ive come to the end of the process, seems i always work till the last minute!
this album was no exception. its funny how my brain works, now that i know its really done, im finally relaxed. and of course thinking about all the other music i want to make:)
at soundcheck last week we played Wake Up and Say Goodbye for the first time in awhile. ive been playing it at home on acoustic and had changed the key, moving it up 2 steps and so we tried it 2 steps up. that simple change and the fact that we were playing it faster was enough to make me want to record it again. so this morning im going in with fred to finish it off and do the vocal again. we’ll see how it sounds. when all is said and done (that has to be soon, the album is still coming out on sept. 23rd) you can tell me which version you like better!
